An Anglo-Spanish documentary photographer, based in London and trained under Magnum’s David Hurn at Gwent College, Wales, Arnhel’s practice is rooted in long-term visual storytelling that weaves together anthropology, satire, and social commentary.

His acclaimed Country Show project, spanning over a decade, documents the eccentric characters and customs of rural British life. It has been featured at the Museum of English Rural Life (MERL), including the “Land and Folk” talk with anthropologist Bee Farrell, and the “Greatest Online Agricultural Show” (2020), a virtual initiative created to support rural communities during the COVID-19 pandemic.

His work has also been shown at major exhibitions, including Identities at the Jewish Museum London, Darbar: Explore India at the Royal Festival Hall, and A Hybrid Nation at the Stanley Picker Gallery. His photography was selected for Hold Still (2020), a UK-wide project curated by the National Portrait Gallery and supported by the Duchess of Cambridge. His image now forms part of the Gallery’s permanent collection, where several other portraits of his are currently held.

In the commercial arena, Arnhel applies the same signature blend of humour and narrative insight to projects for clients such as BP, Nintendo, Virgin, The British Museum, and the National Trust.
